Pastor Rob Hunter’s journey of faith is eclectic and inspiring. It reflects experiences across diverse spiritual traditions.
He grew up in a family deeply devoted to ministry. As the son of a Seventh-Day Adventist pastor, he developed a reverence for God and a love for the church.
Later, in his twenties, Pastor Rob experienced a major spiritual transition. He joined the Cathedral of the Holy Spirit, a Pentecostal/Charismatic megachurch. For the next 15 years, he was actively involved in worship, outreach, and spiritual formation. These experiences helped deepen his faith and broaden his understanding of ministry.
Education also played a key role in his spiritual growth. In 1995, Rob earned a Bachelor’s degree in English Literature from Georgia State University. A year later, he responded to a call to ministry. He enrolled at Oral Roberts University, known for its rigorous academics and spiritual focus.
Rob graduated in 1999 with a Master of Divinity degree. Then in 2000, he was ordained and joined the pastoral team at the Cathedral.
In 2010, Pastor Rob transitioned to the United Church of Christ and served as pastor of First Congregational Church in St. Clair, Michigan. And in 2014, he accepted a call to Faith Congregational Church in Port St. Lucie, Florida, where he continues to serve today.
Through his diverse experiences, Pastor Rob developed a unique openness in ministry. His journey fostered deep respect for each person’s individual faith path. He also gained the ability to find value in perspectives ranging from liberal to conservative. This openness, combined with his personal experience of navigating life transitions, enables him to walk compassionately with others on their spiritual journeys.
